Flying to South East Asia

If you are traveling on a tight budget, instead of booking a direct flight to Denpasar try searching for flights to one of South East Asia's major cities such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and catching a connection from there to Bali via a budget airline.

Airport Tax
Ngurah Rai Airport charges a RP 150,000 tax on all International departures and a RP 30,000 tax on domestic. Fee is payable at the airport after check in, right before your flight. Be prepared and don't give away all your Rupiah before departure!

Taxi

Getting a taxi is a lot easier in the south of Bali than it is in Ubud. The usual rate is RP 5,000 flag fall and RP 2,000 per km. Try to use a cab with a meter. The most popular company is called Bluebird. If you are planning to use a cab on longer journeys to many different destinations arrange a car with a driver.

From airport to Ubud
Airport is about an hour drive from Ubud. Prior to arrival check with your resort or hotel if they offer pick up from the airport. If you hadn't arranged transportation before arrival, don't worry there are plenty of drivers and cab companies waiting for tourists at the airport, who can take you to Ubud.
